Mani Mehdikhani Consultant Clinical Psychologist Manchester leads with over 25 years of clinical, academic, and leadership experience. Dr Mani Mehdikhani offers trauma-informed psychological care grounded in evidence-based approaches and compassion. He is HCPC-registered and holds chartered status with the British Psychological Society. Based in Manchester and Southport, Mani works across NHS, third sector, and academic services.
Mani’s expertise spans addiction psychology, PTSD, complex trauma, and co-occurring mental health conditions. He has held senior roles within Change Grow Live (CGL), including Acting Head of Psychology. In Manchester, he currently leads psychological provision for the Rise addiction service. His work focuses on trauma-informed care for people experiencing homelessness, substance use, and psychological complexity.
He integrates approaches such as CBT, ACT, CFT, Schema Therapy, and his primary modality—EMDR. Mani became EMDR accredited in 2019 and has delivered over 400 hours of EMDR sessions. He has used this to treat PTSD, OCD, grief, phobias, and attachment issues.
From CAMHS to neurorehabilitation and primary care, Mani has worked with a wide range of client groups. His deep understanding of trauma, personality disorders, and neurocognitive conditions informs his collaborative, person-centred care. He provides strategic consultation on safeguarding, risk, and service development.
Additionally, Mani has led projects funded by Public Health England to support multiply excluded individuals. He continues to offer consultation, reflective spaces, and training for multidisciplinary teams.
In 2023–2024, Mani served as Acting Head of Psychology (national post) at CGL. He spearheaded policy development, workforce planning, and clinical governance. He supervised Consultant Psychologists and trainees, and shaped national strategy on psychological practice, digital safety, and service design.
Mani remains deeply committed to continuous learning. His CPD includes advanced training in EMDR, Polyvagal Theory, Schema Therapy, and Supervision. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Personality Disorder and pursues EMDR Consultant status.
He maintains active registration with HCPC and membership with BPS, EMDR Europe, and ACP-UK. His work reflects a strong dedication to equity, psychologically safe systems, and trauma-informed practice.
