About ACYC

The Abbotsford Child and Youth Committee (ACYC) is a collaborative group consisting of community partners, including service providers and family members. We are dedicated to improving the lives of children, youth, and families in Abbotsford. By working together, we can better meet the needs of the community. Collaboration enables us to make meaningful change and provide effective support for those in need.

Our primary aim is to encourage communication and connections between various agencies, ensuring all involved are aligned in supporting the mental health and well-being of children. We work to foster positive relationships among professionals, which strengthens the resources available to our community.

Our Services

ACYC provides various services focused on improving the mental health and overall well-being of children and youth. We recognise that each individual’s mental health journey is unique. Therefore, we focus on providing tailored solutions through collaboration and resource-sharing.

Networking and Collaboration

Our committee plays a vital role in encouraging relationships between agencies. This helps establish clear lines of communication and coordination between service providers. By working together, we ensure the needs of children and families are met in a more efficient and comprehensive manner. Additionally, regular information-sharing about programs and services ensures that the community remains informed.

Advocacy and Leadership

ACYC is committed to advocating for better mental health care and resources in Abbotsford. As leaders in the community, we work to raise awareness about the importance of mental health services and the need for accessible care. Our advocacy efforts aim to influence positive policy changes and ensure resources are distributed where they are needed most.

Information Sharing

We also prioritise the exchange of information between members and stakeholders. Keeping everyone informed about new developments in the mental health field allows us to adapt our services. This enables us to provide the most relevant and up-to-date care for the children and families we serve. It also helps us understand and respond to emerging trends in mental health challenges.

Additional Information

The ACYC holds meetings every two months from September to June. These meetings are essential for discussing community needs, collaborating on initiatives, and sharing insights. By regularly coming together, we are able to create a more unified approach to supporting the mental health of children and families in Abbotsford.

Our long-term vision is to create a community where all children, youth, and families can lead healthy, successful lives. We aim to ensure that every family has access to the necessary resources and support. We invite community members to attend our meetings and contribute to our collective goals.
