Michael Bexson Osteopathy Derby began with a strong academic foundation and a passion for healing. I earned my BSc. (Hons) in Osteopathy in 2009 from the College of Osteopaths, Middlesex University. I completed the rigorous five-year course while working part-time, which helped build resilience and discipline.

I am fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council. In addition, I work with major healthcare providers such as AXA PPP, Aviva, and SimplyHealth. My treatment style takes a holistic approach, always considering how the body functions as a whole. As a result, I help patients of all ages overcome a wide range of conditions.

Teaching and Clinical Leadership at Michael Bexson Osteopathy Derby

Alongside my clinic work, I also serve as a Clinic Tutor and Lecturer at the College of Osteopaths. I teach on the BSc Osteopathy Degree programme, operating from both Derby and Staffordshire University campuses. This academic role keeps my skills sharp and ensures I stay current with the latest techniques and research.

A Science-Based Background Supports My Osteopathy

Before retraining, I worked in the scientific field for several years. I hold an Honours Degree in Biology and a Masters in Environmental Pollution Control. This scientific background supports my osteopathic work by providing a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology.

My journey into osteopathy began after experiencing a back injury during a jet-ski accident. An osteopath helped me recover quickly, which inspired me to pursue this rewarding profession. Since then, I’ve dedicated my career to helping others feel the same relief I once felt.

Sports Experience Adds Another Layer to My Treatment

My lifelong involvement in sports strengthens my work as an osteopath. I have competed in weightlifting, achieving Schoolboy and Under-18 Midland Championships. I also hold a 1st Dan Blackbelt in Shotokan Karate and served as the University Karate Club Captain. Therefore, I understand sports-related injuries both personally and professionally.
