About

Monique Schneigansz Counsellor Bellville is a compassionate and dedicated counsellor based in Cape Town with a profound purpose to help and encourage others during their most challenging times. From a very young age, she felt a deep calling to support people in need. It was only a few years ago that she discovered her name, Monique, means advisor/counsellor, reinforcing her belief that counselling is not just her passion but an intrinsic part of her identity.

Monique understands that everyone faces hardships and difficulties at some point in their life, and she believes that seeking help should never be a source of shame. Her goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can freely express themselves. She respects each client for who they are and what they believe, and her commitment to making a difference in their lives continues to grow every day.

  • Individual Counselling: Monique provides a safe and empathetic space for individuals to explore their feelings and experiences. She helps clients work through their personal challenges and supports them in finding constructive ways forward.
  • Marriage/Couples Counselling: Monique works with couples to enhance their relationships, improve communication, and address conflicts.
  • Family Counselling: Monique offers family counselling to help families navigate conflicts, improve communication, and strengthen their bonds.
  • Trauma Counselling: Monique is experienced in trauma counselling, helping individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences.

Additional Information

Qualifications: Monique holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Midrand Graduate Institute, earned in 2016. She has furthered her personal development through additional training, including a play therapy course in 2018 and Parent Effectiveness Training (PET) in 2019. Since obtaining her degree, Monique has worked in various settings, broadening her experience and expertise. These settings include:

  • Non-Profit Organizations (NPO) sector (i.e., Hope House Counselling Centre)
  • Facilitating children with special needs in schools
  • Providing home support to children with behavioural difficulties
  • Volunteering for the South African Police Service (SAPS) to conduct debriefing and containment after crime scenes
  • Offering debriefing and containment in corporate settings following traumatic incidents
