Natalie Mearns CBT Therapist Kent offers evidence-based, compassionate treatment for a variety of emotional and psychological challenges. My goal is to help you feel empowered, informed, and understood as you work through anxiety, depression, or trauma.
With over nine years in NHS Talking Therapies and six years of direct clinical practice, I bring extensive experience to my work. My approach is grounded in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), which has a strong evidence base for treating anxiety and mood-related disorders.
CBT can help you manage generalised anxiety disorder (GAD), social anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), PTSD, and low self-esteem. Furthermore, it can support individuals with low mood and depression. I always work in line with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance to maintain the highest standards of care.
In addition to CBT, I integrate several therapeutic modalities. I offer acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), and trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT). I have also recently completed EMDR training and am building my caseload to work toward full accreditation.
These approaches can be particularly effective in treating complex issues. ACT and CFT, for example, are especially useful for managing long-term physical health conditions alongside psychological distress.
Choosing Natalie Mearns CBT Therapist Kent means choosing a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental space. Together, we will explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. We will also develop practical strategies to help you move forward.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of the next step, I am here to support you in gaining clarity and confidence.
I remain committed to ongoing learning to provide the best support possible. My qualifications include:
PGCert in Advanced Psychological Wellbeing – University of Surrey (2018)
PGDip in Psychological Therapies (IAPT) – Sussex University (2020)
CBT for Long-Term Health Conditions (using ACT) – CCCU & Surrey University (2023)

Additionally, I’ve trained in ACT with Russ Harris and Joe Oliver, CFT with Professor Paul Gilbert, and EMDR with EMDR Consultancy (2025 cohort).
