Nicky Clarke Counselling & Therapy Swindon offers professional and compassionate counselling for individuals facing emotional challenges. With over a decade of hands-on experience, I have supported clients from diverse backgrounds. My work spans the NHS, private clinics, and charitable organisations, ensuring I understand a wide range of needs.
Since qualifying as a CRUSE bereavement counsellor in 2004, I have walked alongside people dealing with grief, trauma, and life transitions. While each individual’s story is unique, my approach stays grounded in empathy and understanding. Over time, I’ve developed specialised skills in trauma support, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and mindfulness.
Moreover, I bring unique insight into the challenges faced by veterans and military families. During my time with Combat Stress, a charity helping veterans with mental health struggles, I gained valuable knowledge. This experience has equipped me to offer informed support to those from military communities.
Because everyone’s path to healing looks different, I offer tailored sessions that reflect your needs. Whether you’re facing anxiety, loss, trauma, or everyday stress, we work together in a safe, confidential space. My sessions incorporate evidence-based methods, including CBT and mindfulness, to support emotional resilience.
Additionally, I run psychoeducation groups designed to empower clients with knowledge. These groups help participants understand how thoughts and emotions impact behaviour. As a result, many clients feel more in control of their mental well-being.
My background as a CRUSE counsellor gives me deep insight into bereavement. However, I also work with people experiencing trauma, depression, and anxiety. With my postgraduate training in psychodynamic counselling and global veteran studies, I support both civilians and veterans effectively.
I take professional development seriously. Below are my key qualifications:
CRUSE Bereavement Counsellor – 2004
Certificate in Counselling Skills (WPF) – 2004
PG Dip Psychodynamic Counselling (WPF/University of Roehampton) – 2007
MSc in Global Veteran and Military Families Studies – Distinction – 2020
I am a registered member of both the BACP and UKCP, adhering to their ethical guidelines.
Choosing a therapist is an important step. At Nicky Clarke Counselling & Therapy Swindon, I offer a warm, inclusive, and non-judgmental approach. Because therapy should feel empowering, I focus on building trust from our very first session.
Let’s work together towards clarity, healing, and hope.
