Ninke Coetzee – Movement Therapist – Zwavelpoort earned her BSc in Biokinetics from the University of Pretoria in 2013. Moreover, she qualified as a MAP (Myofascial Activated Postural) Movement Trainer in 2018 Movement Through Grace. Consequently, she brings both broad biokinetic expertise and specialised postural training to Zwavelstream Clinic’s multidisciplinary team ZwavelStream Clinic.
In her role at Zwavelpoort, Ninke designs movement-based interventions that address both physical and mental-health challenges. Furthermore, she collaborates closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers to ensure truly holistic, patient-centred care. Through personalised assessments, she identifies movement dysfunctions and empowers clients to rebuild strength, flexibility, and confidence. Therefore, every programme reflects each person’s unique goals and recovery needs.
Finally, Ninke draws on over ten years of biokinetic practice in Pretoria’s private and clinical sectors. Additionally, she maintains active membership with the Biokinetics Association of South Africa, which keeps her current with emerging best-practice protocols.
Ninke delivers a comprehensive suite of personalised movement-therapy services, each built around structured techniques, measurable outcomes, and active client engagement:
Individual Movement Therapy
She crafts one-on-one sessions that combine functional strength training, mobility drills, and postural correction to restore daily-living abilities. Consequently, clients overcome movement barriers and regain independence.
Chronic Pain Management
Through graded exercise programmes, myofascial release, and neuromuscular re-education, she addresses persistent pain conditions—such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, and back pain. Moreover, she integrates breath-work and mind-body coordination to enhance long-term relief.
Postural Assessment & MAP Training
Using Myofascial Activated Postural principles, Ninke evaluates alignment and trains clients in postural activation techniques. As a result, they develop sustainable postural habits that reduce strain and improve function.
Orthopaedic & Neurological Rehabilitation
She supports recovery from orthopedic procedures and neurological events—such as stroke—by employing task-specific exercises and assistive-device training. Furthermore, she adapts programmes to individual progress.
Weight Management & Movement Coaching
In partnership with dietitians and medical staff, she designs evidence-based activity plans for weight control and metabolic health. Therefore, clients build sustainable exercise habits that support overall wellness.
Group Movement Workshops
She leads thematic groups on core stability, balance training, and stress-reducing movement, fostering peer support and collective motivation.
Each service emphasises a personalised patient experience, and Ninke continuously refines interventions based on client feedback and performance data.
Beyond clinical work, Ninke contributes to Zwavelstream’s CPD workshops, most recently presenting “Integrating MAP Principles into Mental-Health Rehabilitation.” Moreover, she mentors junior biokineticists and movement therapists, ensuring the clinic’s standards remain rigorous and innovative.
Outside the clinic, she enjoys trail running, yoga, and community wellness events. Additionally, her passion for the outdoors informs her belief in movement as a pathway to both physical and mental freedom.
Finally, to verify her professional registration or learn more about her training, prospective clients may consult the Biokinetics Association of South Africa registry or contact Zwavelstream Clinic directly.
