Prestons Health is a family-run holistic healthcare provider based in Peterborough. It has a rich heritage spanning over five decades. Established in 1969 by William Preston, the clinic grew from the dedication of three generations of the Preston family. They have built a tradition of ethical, evidence-based care. Their focus is to help patients regain their health and return to the activities they love. They achieve this through proven techniques and personalised treatment.
The story began with Albert Preston, who worked as a remedial gymnast during the war. Later, he served as Chief Physiotherapist at Thorpe Hall Rehabilitation Centre. He also spent 25 years treating players at Peterborough United Football Club (POSH). Albert continued private practice until the age of 75. Inspired by their father, Albert’s sons, William and George, qualified as Chartered Physiotherapists in the 1960s. William worked at the National Spinal Injury Centre at Stoke Mandeville. He also served as Physiotherapist to the English Commonwealth Paraplegic Games in 1966. George was Physiotherapist to Leicester Football Club.
William founded Prestons Physiotherapy in Peterborough in 1969. In 1995, the clinic was redeveloped to include private treatment rooms, a rehabilitation studio, and a large free onsite car park. In 2001, William’s daughter Helen took over the clinic. She qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1996. Helen values both the therapeutic relationship (the art) and evidence-based practice (the science). She combines these to achieve the best outcomes for patients.
Helen’s interest in holistic therapies and research inspired further growth. As a result, Prestons Physiotherapy expanded into Prestons Health in 2013. This reflected a new focus on multidisciplinary, holistic care. Today, Prestons Health is the largest independent healthcare provider in the Peterborough and Oundle areas. It offers a wide range of therapists and therapies.
Prestons Health delivers comprehensive, patient-centred care. Their team offers physiotherapy, rehabilitation, and various holistic therapies. They tailor treatments to each patient’s individual needs. Their goal is to provide effective and sustainable relief. Patients receive support that improves both physical symptoms and overall wellbeing.
Prestons Health operates with a clear ethos: listening carefully to each patient’s story. The clinic values a strong therapeutic relationship. This has earned it a respected place in the community. Over 40 years, Prestons Health has continuously developed and improved its services. Whether recovering from injury or enhancing health, patients benefit from the Preston family’s trusted experience. The clinic combines modern evidence-based methods with a holistic approach. This ensures patients receive thorough and compassionate care.
