Clinical Experience of Ros Evans Clinical Psychologist Edinburgh

I bring over 25 years of NHS experience as a clinical psychologist. My background covers adult and older adult mental health. I have also supported clients in physical health settings. At present, I divide my NHS time between palliative care and weight management. I also dedicate time to private practice, where I continue to grow my skills and service.

Shore Psychology as an associate to expand my private practice. I enjoy exploring how physical health and mental health interact. This area remains a strong passion for me, especially when working with long-term conditions.

Conditions I Work With

I support clients with many emotional and psychological difficulties. These include anxiety, depression, and self-esteem challenges. I also help people with eating disorders, obesity, and weight-related issues. Many of my clients face physical health difficulties alongside mental health struggles. Others come to me with trauma, PTSD, or CPTSD. I also provide therapy for grief, personality disorders, and emotional instability.

Therapies I Offer

I tailor therapy to the needs of each individual. My approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also work with Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT). Many clients benefit from Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). Together, these methods provide a flexible, evidence-based toolkit.

Qualifications and Training

I studied Psychology at the University of Aberdeen, completing my MSc in 1993. I then gained my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Edinburgh between 1994 and 1997. These academic foundations support my long-standing clinical career.
