About Roy Dookia

Roy Dookia is an experienced physiotherapist with a strong background in treating a wide range of injuries. He graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Otago University in New Zealand in 2007. Over the years, Roy has completed further training in treating issues of the lower back, sacroiliac joint (SIJ), and hips. He is also skilled in Dry Needling.

In 2017, Roy completed the ConnectTherapy™ Series. This method uses whole-body assessment to find the real cause of pain or movement problems. It includes the Thoracic Ring Approach™, which focuses on how different parts of the body work together during movement.

Services

Roy offers practical and tailored physiotherapy services. His treatments are designed to meet the needs of each individual. Whether you have a new injury or an ongoing condition, Roy provides care that focuses on restoring movement and reducing pain. His services include:

  • Sports Injury Treatment: Support for athletes at all levels. This includes injury care, prevention and return-to-play planning.

  • Spinal Therapy: Treatment for pain or stiffness in the lower back or sacroiliac joint.

  • Hip and Pelvis Treatment: Management of hip pain or joint problems using simple and effective methods.

  • Dry Needling: Used to relieve pain and improve muscle function.

  • ConnectTherapy™ and Thoracic Ring Approach™: A full-body method to uncover hidden causes of pain or poor movement.

  • Care for Performers: Special support for dancers, musicians, and gymnasts who need precise movement in their work.

Roy believes that injury recovery involves more than just treating the painful area. He looks at the way the whole body moves to find and treat the source of the problem.
