Safiya Chicktay Physiotherapist Northcliff graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of The Western Cape in the year 2000. With over two decades of experience, she has honed her expertise in various clinical settings. From her early years working at Polokwane Tertiary Hospital, where she served for five years, to her leadership role as Head of the Clinical Section, Safiya has continually demonstrated a commitment to high-quality care.
During her time at Polokwane Tertiary Hospital, Safiya not only gained valuable hands-on experience but also contributed significantly to improving patient care. As Head of the Clinical Section, she introduced several initiatives that enhanced the hospital’s physiotherapy services. In 2004, Safiya represented the field of physiotherapy when she worked at the SA Games, showcasing her expertise in a high-pressure environment.
Safiya’s career took an international turn when she moved to the UK. She spent six years working in both NHS and Private Care settings. This experience exposed her to a wide variety of cases, including ICU, Respiratory Care, Medical, Post-Surgical, and Neurology patients. Working in the UK allowed Safiya to refine her skills in managing complex cases and learn from a diverse range of healthcare professionals.
Safiya Chicktay Physiotherapist Northcliff is always committed to advancing her knowledge. She completed several postgraduate courses, including training in Global Upper and Lower Quarters. This laid the foundation for her post-graduate diploma in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy. In addition, she completed three stand-alone modules in Sports Physiotherapy, further enhancing her ability to provide comprehensive care to patients across various disciplines.
Safiya continues to ensure that her patients receive the best care possible. With an extensive background in both public and private healthcare, she understands the importance of a tailored approach. Safiya works closely with each patient to develop treatment plans that are effective and goal-oriented. Her approach focuses on long-term health outcomes and improved mobility for her patients.
