Sandra Anderson CBT Therapist Southampton offers compassionate, effective therapy that helps clients reclaim control of their lives. I have worked with hundreds of individuals across a broad range of mental health challenges. My goal is to help each person find relief, develop resilience, and move forward with confidence.
I qualified as a CBT therapist in August 2018. Since then, I have delivered thousands of hours of one-to-one therapy in-person and over the phone. In July 2023, I became accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). This recognition reflects my commitment to delivering therapy to the highest clinical standards.
My approach to therapy blends proven methods. I combine cognitive behavioural therapy with person-centred, solution-focused, integrative, and interpersonal techniques. Each session is tailored to the client’s needs. This flexibility helps treat a wide range of conditions, including:
Depression and anxiety
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
Workplace stress and bullying
Eating disorders and body image concerns
Grief, loss, and relationship issues
I also facilitate group therapy sessions focused on assertive communication and self-esteem building. These groups encourage meaningful change through connection and support.
Before becoming a therapist, I built a career in social care. I worked with individuals and families across different life stages. This experience adds depth to my therapy work and enables me to understand complex personal and social dynamics.
Each client begins with a structured pre-assessment. I use tools like the GAD-7 and PHQ-9 to assess mental health risk and therapy suitability. Afterward, we agree on a therapy plan that focuses on measurable outcomes. Throughout the process, I monitor progress and provide regular reports. I also complete detailed discharge notes to ensure continuity of care.
I work closely with other professionals when needed. Some cases involve coordination with psychologists and doctors to ensure the best outcomes. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all — collaboration helps tailor the support each client receives.
