Her leadership was instrumental in delivering Brighton’s first Recovery Festival in 2016. Not only did she coordinate and chair the planning group, but she also secured funding and oversaw participation from over 500 individuals. These achievements showcase her dedication to patient-centered recovery programs and community-based healing.
Since November 2018, Dr. Flowers has been a key consultant addiction psychiatrist at Lifeworks. Her clinical work continues to impact lives meaningfully, offering specialised support to individuals and families navigating addiction recovery. Her experience as both an NHS and private sector consultant enables her to offer holistic and tailored psychiatric care.

Her academic involvement includes a long-standing honorary senior clinical lecturer position at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, where she educates future clinicians in addiction psychiatry.
A passionate researcher, Dr. Flowers collaborates with the Sussex Addictions and Research Intervention Centre (SARIC). She also contributes to national policy as a member of the Department of Health’s Neptune II panel and the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ exam-writing team.
