Space For Me Counselling Worcester is a confidential counselling service dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and accessible space for all clients. My name is Pat, and I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor with a deep personal understanding of the challenges involved in seeking therapy. I recognise that taking the first step to reach out can be daunting, especially when you worry about being misunderstood or judged. Having experienced these fears myself, I am committed to creating a non-judgemental, supportive environment where you feel genuinely heard and valued.
Before I began therapy, I often felt ‘different’ and ‘beneath’ others. Through counselling, I learned that nobody is better or worse than anyone else; we each have unique strengths and weaknesses. This understanding has shaped my approach. I believe mistakes are part of being human, and I encourage clients to own their experiences and grow from them. My aim is to help you build confidence and self-acceptance, recognising the whole person, including flaws.
My background is varied, including service in the British Army (WRAC) and work in the care sector. Both careers provided me with valuable insight into disability, accessibility, and the practical and emotional challenges faced by many people. I have personally experienced temporary disabilities during my army service and understand the restrictions they bring. Working in care has further enhanced my inclusive and collaborative approach. I work closely with clients to tailor therapy according to their individual needs and circumstances.
In addition, I was diagnosed with dyslexia in my 50s, having left school at 16 with no qualifications. This late diagnosis gave me deeper empathy for those facing hidden challenges and reinforced my belief in lifelong learning and growth with the right support.
Space For Me Counselling Worcester offers integrative counselling, which means I draw from various therapeutic approaches to best meet your unique needs. I work with adults facing a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem difficulties, trauma, relationship problems, and identity concerns.
The therapy process is collaborative and client-centred. I believe in creating a safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement. Together, we work towards your goals at a pace that suits you, respecting your lived experience and perspective.
Accessibility is a key priority at Space For Me Counselling. The counselling room is fully wheelchair accessible and includes a disabled toilet. This ensures clients with mobility needs can attend comfortably and safely. For more details, including photos and measurements, please visit our disabled access page.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), which means I adhere to their strict ethical guidelines to maintain your confidentiality and professional standards.
If you are considering counselling but feel unsure or nervous, please do get in touch. I offer a friendly, understanding space to support you on your journey towards self-understanding and healing.
