Description

Suné Smit CBT Therapist Surrey – Compassionate, Skilled, and Focused on Recovery

Suné Smit CBT Therapist Surrey offers a safe, compassionate, and judgment-free space where individuals can begin their journey toward healing. With extensive clinical knowledge, empathy, and a deep understanding of mental health and eating disorders, I guide clients through meaningful recovery at every stage.

I collaborate with clients using evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and the Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA). Together, we work to understand your experiences, build healthier coping strategies, and reconnect with your values. My goal is to help you develop tools that support long-term growth and emotional resilience.

CBT Therapy with Suné Smit: A Personalised Approach

Every person’s journey is different. That’s why I tailor therapy to meet you exactly where you are. Whether you’re just starting to explore your struggles or are already deep into your recovery process, I provide the support you need to move forward. I understand how challenging it can be to open up about mental health or eating disorders. My role is to ensure you feel heard, validated, and empowered to take the next step.

Experience and Expertise at Life Works in Surrey

Currently, I serve as a trainee CBT therapist at Life Works, where I have been part of the clinical team for over four years. My past roles include clinical intern, healthcare assistant, and therapy assistant. This breadth of experience allows me to understand the therapeutic process from multiple perspectives.

I’ve also worked closely with multi-disciplinary teams of therapists, consultant psychiatrists, and nurses. This collaboration enhances the quality of care each client receives and ensures a well-rounded treatment experience.

Training and Professional Credentials

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and am pursuing a second Master’s in CBT. My qualifications also include:

  • Training in MANTRA and CBT

  • Competency in venepuncture

  • Personality disorder and eating disorder support training

  • Experience in adolescent offender research and risk factors

I am also a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), which upholds high standards in therapeutic practice.

Helping You Reconnect With What Matters

The path to recovery isn’t always linear, but with the right support, it is always possible. I aim to help clients build resilience, strengthen their sense of self, and move toward a more fulfilling life. Let’s work together toward creating positive change.
