The Haven Night Shelter was founded in 1978 in Cape Town, South Africa, with the belief that no one should have to live on the streets.
Our mission is to provide temporary shelter, physical care, social welfare services, and family reunification support to those in need. Our approach extends beyond providing a bed for the night; we work to reintegrate individuals into society by equipping them with the necessary tools to rebuild their lives.
We operate through partnerships with religious institutions, businesses, government bodies, and other welfare organisations to create a sustainable network that ensures nobody is forced to survive on the streets.
We offer secure and welcoming temporary accommodation for homeless adults. Our shelters provide food, care, and a structured environment for those willing to work towards reintegration.
Our dedicated social workers conduct in-depth assessments and help individuals develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP). This tailored plan outlines the necessary steps for each client to achieve stability and reintegration.
We believe that reconnecting individuals with their loved ones is a vital part of ending homelessness. Our fieldworkers actively work to trace families, make contact, and arrange safe travel home for those who wish to reunite with their relatives.
Our fieldworkers engage with homeless individuals on the streets, encouraging them to seek shelter and support.
To foster responsibility and independence, clients contribute towards their stay at The Haven. Can work within the shelter to earn their stay.
These professionals work closely with clients to facilitate rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
By contributing, you help us offer individuals a second chance at life.
