About Tom Black, The Manx Myotherapist

Tom Black, known as The Manx Myotherapist, is a passionate myotherapist based in Geelong. His mission is simple: to help people get the best out of their bodies and achieve their sporting and exercise goals. Tom’s approach starts with a deep understanding of each patient through thorough assessments. His treatment methods include various techniques such as massage, dry needling (including electrical stimulation dry needling), mobilisation, cupping, functional release cupping, and personalised exercise prescription.

Originally from the Isle of Man, Tom’s journey into myotherapy began through his love of cycling. In 2010, he competed at the Commonwealth Games for the Isle of Man and was part of the support team for Tour de France champion Mark Cavendish. This intense athletic background sparked Tom’s fascination with the human muscular system and inspired him to train as a massage therapist.

Before moving to Australia, Tom ran his own clinic, TBM Therapy, on the Isle of Man. He treated many top amateur and professional athletes, including MotoGP star Cal Crutchlow. Since relocating to Australia in 2015, Tom has expanded his knowledge by working as a trainer for the Box Hill Hawks (VFL), a soigneur for the JLT Condor pro cycling team, and the head trainer for Frankston YCW Football Club, contributing to their premiership successes.
