About Paul and How I Work

Hello, I’m Paul, a qualified integrative counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere to their ethical framework and maintain all necessary professional insurances. With a BSc in psychology earned about ten years ago, I have gained valuable experience working in both the third sector and private practice.

Counselling allows me to draw on this knowledge to support people as they navigate life’s challenges. I aim to create a collaborative and supportive environment where you feel safe and free from judgement. Together, we explore the difficulties you face and work at a pace that suits you.

Services

My approach to counselling is integrative, blending various therapeutic methods tailored to your individual needs. These include psychodynamic, person-centred, existential, and transactional analysis techniques. In some cases, I use visualisation exercises to help process trauma and complex emotions.

Moreover, I am particularly interested in how people assign meaning and values to their experiences. Over time, some of these meanings can become limiting rather than helpful. Therapy helps to examine and, if necessary, reshape these beliefs to encourage personal growth and positive change.

I work with adults of all ages, supporting clients from diverse backgrounds. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or other challenges, I strive to provide compassionate and effective counselling tailored to your needs.

Taking the step to begin counselling can feel daunting. However, my goal is to offer a welcoming, respectful space where you can express yourself openly. By working collaboratively, we will identify the best path forward suited to your unique situation.

Therapy is a process of discovery and empowerment. Through it, you may gain deeper self-understanding, fresh perspectives, and practical strategies to overcome difficulties. I believe that with the right support, everyone has the potential to grow and thrive.

If you are considering counselling and would like to find out more about how I can help, please do get in touch. I am happy to answer your questions and support you in deciding whether this is the right step for you.
