Tracey Whiteley Occupational Therapy Wakefield proudly introduces Jane-Mary Booth, a dedicated Community Occupational Therapist based in Wakefield. Jane-Mary brings over 23 years of health and social care experience, including more than four years as a qualified Occupational Therapist. Her commitment to enhancing lives through practical, evidence-based interventions defines her approach.
With a master’s degree in occupational therapy, Jane-Mary specialises in both minor and major adaptations, moving and handling, and single-handed care. Throughout her career, she has worked across multiple sectors, including community mental health, disability services, and integrated reviewing teams.
Her hands-on involvement in delivering home adaptations ensures people remain safe, mobile, and independent in their homes. As part of her commitment to excellence, she supports individuals by completing thorough assessments and creating tailored solutions to meet complex care needs.
Jane-Mary also holds advanced knowledge of the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) process. She routinely delivers high-quality, evidence-based recommendations that empower individuals to live more independently.
Jane-Mary’s experience with complex cases, especially in single-handed care and moving and handling, reflects her ability to adapt in high-pressure environments. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she volunteered for frontline duties in Acute Assessment and A&E units, showing exceptional resilience and dedication.
Throughout her career, she has supported rehabilitation-focused outcomes using collaborative, strengths-based practices. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, Jane-Mary delivers interventions that reduce reliance on care while improving long-term outcomes.
She has conducted numerous complex moving and handling assessments and introduced innovative equipment that makes a real difference in people’s daily lives. Her approach is not only efficient but also driven by compassion and active listening.
To maintain excellence, Jane-Mary continues her development through CPD, regularly attending training on assistive technology, housing adaptations, and person-centred practice.
