William gained valuable experience working at Tavistock and Portman in various departments. He treated adolescents and young adults aged 14 to 26 years. Furthermore, he worked with children under five years old, which added depth to his expertise. Before his psychotherapy training, William spent 17 years supporting vulnerable groups such as looked after children, unaccompanied asylum seekers, and young offenders. His specialty focuses on hard-to-reach adolescents.
Since 2015, William has been affiliated with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP). He also holds accreditation from the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). His strong professional foundation ensures that he adheres to high standards. These qualifications help him deliver tailored psychotherapy services to meet diverse needs.
William’s journey began as a youth and community worker, graduating in 2003. Over ten years, he supported disenfranchised young people and families in deprived communities. This work sparked his interest in mental health, which led him to train at the Tavistock and Portman Clinic. William earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychological Therapy for Children, Young People, and Families. Subsequently, he completed a Master of Science in Psychoanalytic Observational Studies. Currently, he pursues a Professional Doctorate in Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
William participates in research focused on psychotherapy’s effectiveness in emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) schools. He studies children exhibiting conduct disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). These projects enhance his clinical practice and contribute to the broader understanding of child mental health.
