Yasmin Donaldson CBT Therapist Kent brings years of professional experience and a warm, empathetic approach to therapy. Since joining Priory Hospital Hayes Grove in 2020, Yasmin has worked as an integrative psychotherapist with both inpatients and outpatients. She is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), which underscores her commitment to ethical and effective care.
Yasmin offers one-to-one sessions and facilitates weekly psychoeducational groups. These cover vital mental health topics such as dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and mindfulness. Her practice blends multiple therapeutic techniques, ensuring clients receive support tailored to their unique experiences and challenges.
Yasmin graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Wanting to build further expertise, she completed a Master’s Degree in Counselling at Goldsmiths University in 2014. This program emphasized psychodynamic and psychoanalytic theories.
In 2017, she completed a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a key component of her therapeutic approach today. Her passion for learning didn’t stop there. In 2020, Yasmin earned a Diploma in Grief and Bereavement Counselling. More recently, she added schema therapy (2022) and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) training (2024) to her professional toolkit.
Yasmin began her career in the education sector, offering therapeutic services to children and adolescents. Eventually, she transitioned into adult therapy at Priory. This wide-ranging experience allows her to support a diverse client base with flexibility and understanding.
Her confidential sessions are non-judgemental and collaborative. Yasmin uses an integrative approach, combining different modalities based on what best suits the client. For example, CBT focuses on current thoughts and behaviours, while psychodynamic therapy explores deeper emotional patterns and unresolved experiences from the past.
Clients working with Yasmin can expect a safe, professional environment focused on growth. She works across a broad range of issues including:
Anxiety
Depression
OCD
Anger management
Phobias
Bereavement
Bipolar disorder
Through personalised care, Yasmin empowers clients to navigate mental health challenges effectively. Whether you’re facing everyday stress or deeper-rooted issues, Yasmin provides meaningful tools for change and healing.
