About

YCS Counselling Wales began in 2011, founded by a small group of therapists who wanted to make therapy more accessible to those often excluded from private mental health support. Now a registered charity, YCS continues to provide inclusive counselling services in the heart of Cardiff.

Our therapy centre is centrally located and fully accessible, offering a welcoming environment with a range of comfortable rooms. Following the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re actively rebuilding and expanding our services. We aim to meet the growing mental health needs of our community through compassionate care and practical support.

As part of our development strategy, we are working on several exciting projects to enhance our services and reach.

Services

Low-Cost Counselling
We provide affordable counselling for adults who may find private therapy out of reach. Our experienced team of therapists supports clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Sessions are offered face-to-face at our Cardiff centre to ensure a safe, personal experience.

Therapy Room Hire
For qualified therapists looking for a professional and peaceful space, we offer private room rentals at flexible rates. Whether you are newly qualified or established in your practice, our rooms provide a reliable base in a central location.

CPD and Training
YCS is committed to supporting professional growth within the counselling field. We run continuing professional development (CPD) workshops and training opportunities throughout the year. These events are ideal for expanding knowledge, networking, and staying current with therapeutic best practices.

Children’s Counselling – Coming in 2025
Looking ahead, we plan to introduce specialist counselling for children starting in 2025. Early intervention can be vital, and we are excited to develop a dedicated service to support young people’s emotional well-being.
