About 

Nicola Janks is a Specialist Wellness Counsellor with a BA in Health Science and Social Services, majoring in Psychological Counselling from UNISA, and a BA Honours in Psychological Counselling from Cornerstone. Nicola’s passion for mental health began at 12, inspired by stories of children recovering from trauma. Her approach combines person-centred, holistic, and systematic methods, tailored to each individual’s unique circumstances, lifestyle, desires, and challenges.


Services

Counselling Counselling provides a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space to gain deeper insights into thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and goals. Through counselling, individuals can explore and process difficult emotions, develop resilience and coping skills, and work towards positive changes that align with their values and goals.

Emotional Development Workshop This workshop is for anyone who wishes to incorporate more skills and techniques into their daily lives to foster resilience and cope with challenges effectively. Suitable for all ages, it includes topics such as perspectives, intense emotions and acceptance, thought patterns, behavioural cycles, mindfulness, breath work, visualisation, and self-soothing.


Additional Information

Experience Nicola completed her undergraduate and Honours degrees in Psychology and has undertaken courses in teaching and life coaching. She has volunteered with various organisations, serving underprivileged communities and schools in a counselling capacity and as a facilitator. During her postgraduate studies, she facilitated pre-adolescent and adolescent skills groups and conducted workshops focused on emotional development. Nicola also developed and implemented an emotional development programme at an inclusive high school while volunteering as a counsellor.
