Dr Ferdi Marais grew up in Somerset West and attended Somerset West Primary and Hottentots-Holland High School. He completed his MBChB at the University of Stellenbosch in 2004. Following this, Dr Marais worked as a medical officer in urology at Rob Ferreira Hospital in Nelspruit. In 2008, he started specializing in urology at the University of Pretoria. As a senior registrar, he earned recognition for his dedication.
