Description

HEAL Bedfordview – Healing & Educating Addiction Lives

About HEAL

HEAL (Healing & Educating Addicted Lives) began in 2005 to address the need for a support system for recovering addicts and their families. As a non-profit Public Benefit Organisation, HEAL helps individuals reclaim their lives through Christian principles. Its goal is to guide members back to the life they were meant to lead, grounded in faith and emotional recovery.

HEAL prioritises the recovery of its members, offering support to anyone who seeks it. Though it is based on Christian beliefs, anyone can join, provided they are committed to recovery.

The organisation also focuses on family unity, reconciling relationships within families and training them to support their loved ones through addiction recovery. By focusing on both the addict and their family, HEAL creates a comprehensive recovery environment that nurtures the entire family unit.

HEAL runs an open group that welcomes anyone, even those still in active addiction. However, the group operates under strict boundaries for safety. The group facilitators, though not professionally qualified, bring valuable experience and guide the group with knowledge and protocols built over many years. Participants speak from their personal experiences, fostering a compassionate environment for everyone.

Services Offered

HEAL provides a variety of services to support both recovering addicts and their families. The services aim to guide individuals through recovery while equipping families with tools for lasting change.

Recovery Support Groups

HEAL hosts group meetings where participants share their experiences and challenges. These meetings create a community of support and accountability, essential for recovery. The group facilitators lead the sessions, following established protocols and offering guidance based on years of experience.

Family Support and Training

Family members receive training to help them understand addiction and support their loved ones through recovery. These sessions equip families with the skills needed to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and work together towards recovery.

Partnership with Registered Rehabs

HEAL partners with several accredited rehabs in South Africa. These partnerships ensure that individuals leaving rehab continue to receive support and accountability. HEAL’s ongoing aftercare ensures that people can maintain their recovery even after leaving treatment.

Addiction Education

HEAL educates both addicts and their families about the recovery process. This education builds a culture of recovery, where individuals are empowered to stay on the path to long-term healing. HEAL uses years of collective knowledge to guide participants through addiction recovery.

Additional Information

HEAL offers a safe space for anyone affected by addiction. Although rooted in Christian principles, it is open to all individuals, whether their addiction is to drugs, alcohol, gambling, or other behaviours.

The organisation’s focus is on spiritual and emotional healing, which it believes is essential to overcoming addiction. HEAL teaches its members to live a healthy, addiction-free life, guided by Christian values.

HEAL is not a replacement for professional medical treatment but works alongside accredited rehabs to provide aftercare support. The organisation’s network of partners ensures that everyone has the resources they need throughout their recovery journey.

If you or someone you love is seeking recovery, HEAL Bedfordview can guide you through each step. With its focus on family, education, and holistic healing, HEAL provides the tools needed for lasting recovery and success.
