Dr. Patricia Doris is a registered clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience in helping individuals achieve emotional well-being and fulfilment in their lives. She is passionate about supporting clients in developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to make meaningful changes in their personal and professional lives.
Dr. Doris combines her extensive education, training, and clinical experience with both insight-oriented psychodynamic principles and evidence-based therapeutic techniques. By integrating scientifically validated treatments, she tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual client. This ensures that her clients can expect therapy that is both compassionate and effective, providing the best possible path toward personal growth and healthy relationships.
With the addition of virtual therapy services, Dr. Doris can now extend her expertise to clients across Ontario, including Ottawa, Toronto (GTA), and beyond. While she continues to work with clients in London and the surrounding communities, the option for virtual therapy provides increased flexibility and comfort, allowing clients to participate in sessions from the convenience of their own homes. Research has shown that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions, making this option ideal for those seeking a balance of convenience and quality care.
Dr. Patricia Doris offers a range of therapy services, all designed to help individuals and couples achieve their personal and relational goals. She has extensive experience working with clients from all walks of life, and she is dedicated to providing therapy that is both meaningful and transformative.
Dr. Doris works with clients who are seeking personal growth, emotional healing, or support through life’s challenges. Her therapeutic approach is flexible, drawing on a combination of psychodynamic principles and evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. Whether you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or relationship struggles, Dr. Doris can help you develop the skills and insights necessary to move forward with confidence.
In addition to individual therapy, Dr. Doris provides therapy for couples who are facing relationship difficulties. Whether you’re experiencing communication issues, conflicts over values, or difficulties with intimacy, she can help you work through these challenges in a supportive, non-judgmental space. Her approach is collaborative and focused on helping couples develop stronger, healthier relationships.
Dr. Doris also offers specialised executive counselling services. She understands the unique challenges faced by professionals and high achievers, and works to help individuals navigate work-related stress, burnout, and work-life balance issues. Through therapy, clients can improve their resilience, performance, and overall mental well-being.
Dr. Patricia Doris’ professional journey began with a deep curiosity about human psychology, sparked by an introductory psychology class. This interest led her to complete a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from Western University, followed by a residency at London Health Sciences Centre. She then pursued an academic career as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at King’s University College, where she taught clinical, abnormal, counselling, and health psychology.
Despite her enjoyment in teaching, Dr. Doris found that her true professional fulfilment came from working directly with clients in clinical settings. This led her to transition to private practice full-time, where she has found great satisfaction in helping motivated individuals make positive changes in their lives and relationships.
Dr. Doris offers a warm, compassionate approach to therapy that is both evidence-based and deeply personal. She is committed to providing clients with the tools and support they need to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential, whether in their personal, relational, or professional lives.
