About Us

Bouncing Back Injury Clinic in Gloucester is led by Katy, a highly qualified Musculoskeletal Clinician with extensive experience and a passion for evidence-based treatment. Katy graduated with a first-class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Therapy and holds full Society membership. She further advanced her expertise by completing a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice in 2018, with her thesis focusing on concussion in horse riders. Currently, she is pursuing a Professional Doctorate, which she began in February 2024 and will continue for at least four years.

Katy’s role involves assessing, diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating musculoskeletal injuries, including issues affecting joints, bones, and muscles. Her private practice prides itself on being affordable, honest, and straightforward, without gimmicks or fads, offering patients a reliable and evidence-based approach to recovery.

Services

The clinic offers specialised musculoskeletal care tailored to both occupational and sporting injuries. Katy’s experience spans over many sports and levels of competition, from amateur rugby union and semi-professional rugby league to working with elite athletes in GB ice hockey, the Olympic Malawi team, and others. Her background includes a two-year therapy internship with Gloucester Rugby, where she collaborated with physiotherapists, doctors, strength and conditioning coaches, and nutritionists.

Katy’s treatment approach is holistic and thorough, helping patients recover from a variety of conditions, including total hip replacements, frozen shoulder, and other complex musculoskeletal problems. She has also worked with young athletes at Hartpury College across multiple disciplines such as equine sports, modern pentathlon, rowing, and women’s rugby. This insight into athlete development helps Katy deliver effective rehabilitation programmes that support peak performance and injury prevention.

Additional Information

In addition to her clinical work, Katy is passionate about education. Since January 2020, she has lectured at the University of Gloucestershire, training future therapists to meet the growing demand for musculoskeletal health services in the UK. Outside of work, Katy is an accomplished athlete herself, holding a third dan black belt in kickboxing and wadaru, and participating in half marathons, mud runs, and mini triathlons. She is also an avid horse rider, having been involved with horses since early childhood.
