Deborah Tweddle Consultant Paediatrician Newcastle leads the field in paediatric and adolescent oncology. She works at the Great North Children’s Hospital and Newcastle University Centre of Cancer. Professor Deborah Tweddle has over 20 years of experience in paediatric oncology. She treats children and young people diagnosed with neuroblastoma. As a clinical academic, she divides her time between Newcastle University and the Great North Children’s Hospital. Her medical journey began with a BSc in Experimental Immunology and Oncology from Manchester University. She earned her MB ChB (Hons) in 1991 and achieved her PhD at Newcastle University in 2002. Her career includes roles as LRF Fellow, Specialist Registrar, and Senior Lecturer before becoming Professor of Paediatric Oncology. Each stage enhanced her clinical skills and deepened her research expertise.
