April Kerslake Practitioner Psychologist Kent provides expert psychological care with a holistic approach. April uses evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), compassion-focused therapy (CFT), schema therapy skills, and mindfulness-based techniques. Her practice prioritizes understanding clients’ social, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. Consequently, she supports meaningful change and promotes a richer quality of life.
Before returning to the UK from New Zealand, April gained valuable clinical experience in primary healthcare. She worked with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, helping them overcome various difficulties. April combines her deep clinical knowledge with compassionate care. Moreover, she believes in working alongside clients to tailor therapy based on individual needs and goals.

April’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Health Science in Psychology with first-class honours from Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand. She also completed a Master of Health Science in Psychology with first-class honours and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling Psychology. Further, April pursued specialized training in schema therapy, DBT skills, and trauma treatment. This strong foundation equips her to deliver diverse psychological interventions confidently.
April’s research explores mindfulness, meditation, and mental health experiences within the LGBTQIA+ community. She actively contributes to clinical knowledge by publishing and sharing insights.
