Majella Cogan Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist London offers expert, evidence-based therapy grounded in both compassion and science. With over a decade of experience, Majella delivers exceptional support tailored to your individual needs. She draws on a strong academic background and a commitment to ongoing development.
Majella’s professional journey includes a BSc in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (Expert Practitioner), and an MSc in Applied Positive Psychology. Furthermore, she has achieved certifications in Stress Management, Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions.
She is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and an accredited Member of the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). She also holds membership in the Worldwide Association of Notable Alumni.
Majella brings nearly 10 years of clinical experience, including substantial work within the NHS (IAPT services) and the private sector. She received her CBT clinical training at King’s College London and continues to hold a senior clinical role in a digital therapy service. There, she leads a remote therapy team delivering both NHS and private care contracts.
Additionally, she works at the Nightingale Hospital, providing structured, solution-focused treatment. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative and outcome-driven. She believes that therapy must be both safe and supportive to truly work.
Majella’s clinical practice follows NICE guidelines and is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). However, she also integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness where appropriate. These models promote long-term well-being and help clients lead more meaningful lives.
Her work focuses on anxiety, depression, OCD, panic disorder, phobias, and trauma. Majella sees therapy as a journey of learning, growth, and real change. She aims to help clients become their own best therapist.
Since her core training in 2009, Majella has built an extensive CPD portfolio. She regularly attends workshops focusing on disorder-specific protocols, ACT, and mindfulness. Because she values ongoing improvement, she continues to invest in her professional development.
Majella is warm, empathic, and highly committed. Her sessions are non-judgemental and supportive. She helps clients explore their thoughts and beliefs while linking them to behaviour and mood. Together, you will identify patterns, build resilience, and develop effective coping strategies.
Her key focus is to empower clients to implement change, experience growth, and live with greater purpose.
