Description

William – Senior Podiatrist at Adelaide Podiatry

About William

William is an experienced Senior Podiatrist who graduated from the University of South Australia. After completing his degree, he moved to Melbourne to train under some of the city’s top sports podiatrists at Sports Medicine Centres of Victoria and Olympic Park Sports Medicine. During this time, William treated elite athletes from teams such as the Western Bulldogs, Melbourne Demons, St Kilda Saints, the Victorian Institute of Sport, and the Victorian Cricket Team.

Later, William returned to Adelaide to be closer to family and friends. He founded Melbourne Street Podiatry Centre in North Adelaide and built it from scratch into a thriving clinic. Additionally, he served as a guest lecturer in Human Movement and Sport Science at the University of South Australia, specialising in biomechanics.

Importantly, William was one of the first podiatrists in Adelaide to introduce non-weight bearing foot scanning in 2006. This technology replaced traditional plaster casting for orthotic prescriptions and greatly improved patient comfort and accuracy.

Additional Information

William’s background as an elite national athlete shapes his approach to podiatry. Representing Australia internationally from 2003 to 2011 gave him first-hand insight into the challenges of foot and leg injuries. Consequently, he understands both the physical and emotional impact these injuries can have on patients.

Now, William enjoys treating recreational athletes and others affected by similar injuries. His knowledge of sports medicine and biomechanics helps him create personalised treatment plans. These plans focus on recovery and enable patients to return to their activities quickly and safely.

Outside of work, William remains committed to advancing podiatry through education and innovation. His combination of elite sports experience and professional expertise makes him a trusted practitioner in Adelaide’s community.
