Noreen Dera Chartered Clinical Psychologist London BSC, PGDIP, AFHEA, DCLINPSY, CPSYCHOL brings warmth, skill, and experience to mental health care. She holds over seven years of practical experience, offering tailored psychological support. Currently, she serves adults within the NHS, supporting those with complex and enduring mental health needs.
Dr Noreen Dera earned her Psychology degree from Aston University in Birmingham. Following this, she trained in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at University College London. She later completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hertfordshire in 2021.
That same year, she became a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, earning registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Additionally, she holds memberships with the British Psychological Society and the Association of Clinical Psychologists-UK. In recognition of her educational contributions, she was also named an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Dr Dera founded Breaking Mad, a non-profit focused on delivering culturally sensitive and responsive therapy. Through this initiative, she promotes awareness, inclusion, and better access to mental health support for underrepresented communities. Notably, she has received awards for her work in diversity and inclusion within the mental health sector.
Her approach to therapy is always integrative and grounded in formulation. Although she primarily uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), she also incorporates:
